Art
Whether it’s graffiti, mural making or getting involved over in our studio space, there’s always something artistic happening at Headway House – and the Young People’s Group have led some of our most memorable projects.
One of our personal favourites has been the ‘Humans of Headway’ photography project that we have proudly displayed here at HQ. Inspired by the global phenomenon ‘Humans of New York’, we took photos of our members and displayed them alongside personal quotes.

Videos
You may have seen our recent animation ‘The Multi-gang’ made using plasticine (and a LOT of photographs!) – pretty good right?
Well we also did a time-lapse of our first graffiti mural as our group painted it in the garden last year. And we even dabbled with Vine as we created our second graffiti mural.
Some members have even made their own films. Mathan made a fantastic movie about his own personal journey, with involvement from staff, members and volunteers:

Creative Writing
We’re lucky to have a partnership with a fantastic organisation called Read Together. Over the past couple of years they have led some really creative writing workshops and our Young People’s Group have been key participants:
- – Haikus
- – Story writing
- – Poetry
We’ve also had some great blogs on this site from our younger members: remember ‘There is a Future for Me: Brain Injury at 19’?
Food
Food is a pretty big part of the culture here at Headway – with the help of FareShare our members cook a delicious lunch every day, meaning our Young People’s Group often get involved too.
The truth is, so many of our members are doing great things here – but today it’s all about Youth, so let’s celebrate them and the creative things they are doing at Headway East London!
