We are excited to invite you to differently various, a 9-day take over of Barbican Curve Gallery which will showcase our diverse community and encourage conversations about brain injury.
At differently various you will find an immersive installation which recreates the feel of our day centre in Hackney, with artworks by Submit to Love artists, videos from our kitchen team and music groups and audio stories from our members.
“It will be an amazing, fun exhibition like no other!” – Firoza, artist
There will also be a series of events including tours, talks and workshops in the gallery alongside music, dance and film screenings. Information about the events will be announced soon!
differently various is the culmination of a collaboration between Headway East London and the Barbican which began in 2019 and has been made possible with support from the Heritage Fund. It also coincides with our 25th anniversary, marking 25 years of changing the lives of people living with brain injury.
“I’d like people to come away with what you can achieve after brain injury” – Sam, artist
“As well as making all the art on display, Headway East London members have been involved in key decisions, from design and curation to the public programme through a steering group that has been meeting for over a year.” – Chris, member
