Getting groovy in the art studio

Our members brought in old white t-shirts and bedsheets – ready for a very colourful makeover….

To help make a classic tie-dye pattern, elastic bands were tied around sections of the t shirts and washing pegs were clipped onto the bedsheets.
A waterproof sheet was then put down ready for some serious paint spraying!

Connie brought in three fabric dyes – blue, yellow and pink – and we used children’s water squirters to add colour to the material. Not a clean activity but definitely a fun one!

When finished, they were wrapped up in cling film to let the colour develop before hanging them out to dry in the studio. What do you think? Pretty groovy right?!
