FREE to attend but RSVP essential.
To mark Action for Brain Injury Week (16th – 22nd May) we will to be opening its doors to social workers, commissioners, and social care professionals working across London for an afternoon of education, discussion and interactive activities.
We know that brain injury is complicated and there is little formal training given to those working outside of specialist services like ours. Our aim is to use the expertise of our staff and membership of survivors to provide some vital resources and practical information which you can take back to your wider teams, whilst furthering your own professional development.
It’s also a chance to get to know Headway East London better – we support many brain injury survivors across the city and would love for more people to experience the fun and magic of our centre. Expect:
- Panel discussions from people with lived experience of brain injury
- Interactive workshop activities demonstrating hidden challenges after brain injury
- Practical information, leaflets and resources
- Homemade refreshments from the Headway East London sensory baking group!
If you are a professional working within social care (or you work in another field but feel this would benefit your own development) and would like to attend, please RSVP to anna.mcewen@headwayeastlondon.org by Friday 6th May.
