On Thursday 12 June we welcomed more than 50 guests at our Headway EATS supper club.
We were joined by workshop leader Aga Serugo-Lugo and two musicians from the London Philharmonic Orchestra, who, alongside our members, guided us on a musical journey through composition and improvisation.

Sipping a fresh watermelon drink in the sunny Headway Garden, we enjoyed the beautiful canal-side view during the “golden hour” before sunset.
The menu, devised and prepared by our members, included delicious pastry rolls filled with cheese and herbs, and a spectacular Somali rice dish with lamb and roasted aubergine, inspired by our member Abdul.
After the main course, the orchestra took centre stage, and guests received a percussion instrument (maracas, tambourines, claves, triangles, and more) to join in the process of creating a song from scratch.
The final result was a hilarious, joyful song called “My Wagon”, featuring a chorus, rhythm changes, and a grand finale.
The evening ended with laughter and a super strawberry and cream dessert.
A massive thank you to our kitchen team and front of house staff for delivering another unforgettable evening, to the London Philharmonic Orchestra players and Aga Serugo-Lugo for the incredible entertainment and to all those who joined us and supported our work for people living with brain injury.

Here is what our guests said about the evening:
