This year was my first Family Day at Headway East London. I’d heard great things about the event – which welcomes families from all over the local area to enjoy an afternoon filled with food and activities – and I wasn’t disappointed!As the clock struck midday our guests were met with a warm welcome and a feast of party food! Staff and members helped to prepare homemade pizzas in our communal kitchen, before they were cooked in our very own pizza ovens out in the garden.

In the main space we had volunteers running craft activities, whilst members provided the perfect soundtrack to the afternoon by performing a number of songs with our visiting band (thanks Dan and co!). Over in the arch visitors got busy decorating outlines of their hands and looking at the artwork our members have created.

It was an incredibly enjoyable afternoon and before I knew it, 3pm had arrived and it was time to pack up…..
