In the summer of 1973, Slade drummer Don Powell was involved in a terrible car accident, leaving him with a brain injury that resulted in severe and lasting memory loss.
Writer and performer Ian Pearce, in a dramatic reading, recreates the events that followed the accident to tell the story of Don’s emotional journey to recovery with the support of his family and fellow band members.
On the 30th October Don Powell came to visit our centre in Haggerston to meet our members, drum along to “Merry Xmas Everybody“, and endorse the fantastic work we do to support people living with brain injury through the power of music.
While listening to ‘Wonderin’ Y’, we invite you to make a donation to support our Music Project for people living with brain injury.
Our Big Give campaign is now closed, thank you to everyone who donated!
You can still donate to our Music Project for people living with brain injury. With your support, we can continue to provide daily music groups, 1-1 music therapy sessions, workshops with professional artists and opportunities to engage with live music.
If there was a place like this when I had my head injury, it would have been incredible. Your money will be well used, you should see this place, I am totally overwhelmed!
