As part of our mission to foster community spirit and develop relationships with local businesses, this January, Headway East London reached out to our Hackney neighbour, The Five Points Brewing Company, to see how we could work together. As a result, we are thrilled to announce that they have chosen us as one of two charities they will support in 2018! With an ethos akin to ours, The Five Points Brewing Company prides itself on its commitment to the community, and of course delicious beers. Through charitable events, brewery tours, donations and promotion, The Five Points will support Headway as one of their charity partners of 2018.
Born and bred in Hackney, Five Points is an independent brewery that started its journey in 2013. Champions of flavour, provenance and consistency; their range of award-winning beers are unfiltered and unpasteurised. Five Points strives to be a responsible business; sourcing the electricity for their brewhouse from 100% renewable sources and running an apprenticeship scheme for 18-24 year olds in Hackney. They were the first brewery in the UK to be an accredited Living Wage Employer and are proud to pay the London Living Wage.

As a local, Hackney-based business, supporting and investing in our local community around us has always been incredibly important, ever since we began brewing in 2013. Five years on, our founders are still based in Hackney and many of our 30 staff members call East London home, too. Working with Headway East London this year will enable us to have an input into the charity’s fantastic work in supporting members of our community with brain injuries.’
The second charity supported by The Five Points this year will be The Hackney Winter Night Shelter, a charity supporting the homeless. Their vision is for a route our of homelessness for everyone in need in Hackney, whilst also offering professional and holistic support to help their guests rebuild their lives.
